The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, and the Technical University of Munich, Germany, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to renew their partnership after five years of productive collaboration.
The renewal seeks to breathe new life into the existing KNUST-TUM MoU, which revolves around three central pillars: Faculty Mobility, Student Exchange Programmes, and Collaborative Research Initiatives.

Leading the TUM delegation, Professor Dr. Juliane Winkelmann, Chair of Human Genetics and Senior Vice-President for International Alliances and Alumni, underscored the exceptional rapport that has evolved between KNUST and TUM. She emphasised the importance of strengthening the partnership to ensure the continuity of ongoing research endeavours and to provide students with access to quality education and training. Professor Winkelmann also took the opportunity to remind the Vice-Chancellor of KNUST of the upcoming TUM Annual Academic Celebration Day, where she will be the keynote speaker.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor (Mrs.) Rita Akosua Dickson acknowledged the fruitful partnership that has thrived between KNUST and TUM for the past five years. She placed significant emphasis on the vital role of nurturing the minds of 21st-Century professionals to empower them to make meaningful contributions to humanity. She highlighted the need to sustain the partnership to ensure the continuation of ongoing research projects while keeping the students at the heart of the University's mission. "We have been entrusted with the future in our hands, and we ought to nurture these minds and brains and give them back to transform the society," she concluded.
Other members of TUM’s delegation were Dr. Harald Olk, Director of TUM Global and Alumni Office, and Mr. Dominik Beisser, M.A., Co-Lead Global Engagement, TUM Africa, representing the Technical University of Munich (TUM) in Germany.
Present at the meeting were the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ellis Owusu-Dabo; the Registrar, Mr. Andrews Kwasi Boateng; the Finance Officer, Mr. Yaw Nimoh Boateng; the Provost of the College of Health Sciences, Professor Christian Agyare; the Dean of International Programmes Office (IPO), Professor Daniel Y. A. Duah; and Ms. Efua Arku, Assistant Registrar at the Vice-Chancellor's Office.
